Una presenza importante sulla scena culturale del nostro Paese, di cui si era fatto recentemente ambasciatore, portando fino in Siberia le sue marionette con un testo importante come il Trovatore. Perché il suo talento era anche questo: quello di saper trasformare il grande teatro e i suoi testi a volte difficili e complessi in un linguaggio accessibile a tutti, facendo percepire comunque a grandi e piccini la bellezza e il senso di qualsiasi opera e svolgendo così un’importante funzione sociale di avvicinamento alla cultura. Per questo ci mancherà molto, anche se siamo certi che il suo teatro continuerà a vivere, per la gioia di tutti".
